Obtaining a Marriage License in Las Vegas

If you’re getting married in Las Vegas, you probably have plenty of questions. Here are answers to the most commonly asked questions about getting married in Las Vegas:    

  • No, you do not need to be a resident of Las Vegas to apply for a marriage license.
  • There is no blood test and no waiting period.
  • The marriage license fee must be paid in cash.
  • Proof of age is required. Adults 18 years and older do not need consent. Persons 16 and 17 years old must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, present at the time of application, or a notarized affidavit signed by either parent. The affidavit must include the birth date of the minor and state the relationship of the party giving consent.
  • At least one other witness is required.
  • If either applicant is divorced, the divorce must be final. If the divorce was finalized during the current year, you must know in which month it was finalized. Otherwise, you must know which year the divorce was finalized in.
